The Meaning of Life

Perhaps you have seen those little gift books, the type you find in the queue at Borders or Hallmark, with little clever anecdotes or quotes about big-picture-type things, like sisterhood, mothers, teachers, golfing as a lifestyle... or the meaning of life. A good friend of mine suggested I borrow one that someone close to her had given her, and I read it with increasing happiness. I am hardly exaggerating when I say that each line was full of wisdom and inspiration. Please read the following exerpt once or twice and really let it sink in...

"It's incredibly draining to live through the day doing something you really don't enjoy or even care about. But if you follow your dreams, at least you will exhaust yourself doing what you love most...But best of all, ...you will inspire someone to go after their dreams, and that, my friend, is how you change the world!" -Bradley Trevor Greive, The Meaning of Life

Lately His Dreams

"Lately his dreams had taken him to the small village in Iceland where he'd grown up. To the jetty and the mountain behind the village. He had no idea why and didn't think his dreams were of any significance." -Walking into the Night, Olaf Olafsson

The Meaning of Life

It's incredibly draining to live through the day doing something you really don't enjoy or even care about.  But if you follow your dreams, at least you will exhaust yourself doing what you love most. Now, you may not think that this will measure up to much in the global scheme of things. But believe me it does. When you get the most out of your life, savoring every last drop, it will transform everything about you from ordinary to extraordinary. When you do what you love, you can pull back the bed sheets every morning feeling excited about beginning another day, and you'll be filled with a heartfelt joy that is highly contagious... But best of all, ...you will inspire someone to go after their dreams, and that, my friend, is how you change the world! -Bradley Trevor Greive, The Meaning of Life

Are You a Dreamer? (Waking Life)

This is a short scene from Waking Life, an animated film in which a man goes through a dream meeting various people and having thought-provoking conversations.  It is, indeed, quite thought-provoking, isn't it?...

Last Day Dream

I don't like to over-exaggerate anything, so in trying to keep my words about this short film simple and minimal, let me just say this... It is powerful, and I sincerely believe that it will change you.  At the very least, it will alter your mood.  Chris Milk did a fantastic job; he succeeded in pulling emotions to the surface in record time as well as making a dramatic point about life.  So give it the amazing 42 seconds of your life that it asks for, but give those 42 seconds your full attention.  And then you will not need to watch it again.  Its point will have been made.
